Let's Normalize Mental Health!
As a culture we highly criticize people who have some kind of instability with their mental health. We are real quick to tell someone to pray about their issues when we should do more. Yes, God is the most important in My life. He has also placed people into positions to help me through certain things. Teachers help you learn, doctor's help you to get well, lawyers help you through legal matters. We run to anyone of those people for any of those issues, but we stop short when it comes to mental health. And I blame the ignorance of people for the stigma. There are people suffering in silence because they are afraid of being made fun of or looked at differently. The facts..depression is real, anxiety is real. Mental health goes far beyond the negative connotation society wants you to think. Your mental health matters. It's essential to keep up your mental health just as much as any other health issue. Most importantly the key to healing that I've experience started with a mindset. You have to get and keep your mind right. No one is going to take care of you like you take care of you. No one is going to love you like you love you. Remember, you matter. Putting yourself first is not selfish because if you can't show up for yourself how can you show up for anyone else?
