New Year, New Goals
Thank God, we made it through another year. May this year be the best year of your life!
Now, with a new year comes resolutions people so desperately attempt to keep. From losing weight, getting fit, eating better, or even dropping toxic people out of our lives. But how long do we attempt these things before we go back to our old ways? I’ve found over the years that resolutions gave me false hope. I’d try so hard to keep them that I ended up doing exactly what I said I wasn’t going to do. So, for the last couple of years I’ve made a vision board.
The great thing about a vision board is that it gives you the opportunity to be honest with yourself about what you truly want to improve in your life. Placing those images on a board allows you see your vision as much as possible to keep yourself motivated. One of my favorite Bible verses is Habakkuk 2:2 “write a vision, make it plain.”
That verse speaks to me on a personal level because I don’t have to pretend or dress up something to please another person. My vision is my vision. Keeping things simple is attainable as life will often drive you to places of pressure and confusion. Don’t allow the enemy to convince you that you aren’t sacrificing enough. One thing at a time takes time.
Heaven wasn’t built in a day.
Goals are easier to accomplish and gives you satisfaction when you complete them. Even if it takes you longer than expected they still get accomplished.
If it took you time to develop any type of habit, it’s going to be twice as hard to kick it. Be patient. You can do anything you put your mind to if you focus on your own problems. Don’t let the next person deter you from your goals.
Be Encouraged.
